PHILIPPIANS

Philippians 2:12-13
Therefore, my beloved, just as you have always obeyed me, not only in my presence but much more now in my absence, work on your own salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who is at work in you, enabling you both to will and to work for His good pleasure.

WE DIRECT OUR MINDS TO GOD
DECLARING OUR UNITY IN WORSHIP
from Daniel 12:2-3
Many of those who sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life.
Those who are wise shall shine like the brightness of the sky, and those who lead the many to righteousness, like the stars forever and ever.

PRAYER SEEKING GOD’S PRESENCE
O Lord, our Sovereign, how majestic is Your name in all the earth! You have set Your glory above the heavens. Your Son Jesus abandoned the glories of heaven to dwell among us. Your Spirit works within us so that we can shine like stars in the night sky. Amen.

GOD, WE’RE LISTENING
Jeremiah 18:1-10
read by Bekah Carlson

The word that came to Jeremiah from the Lord: “Come, go down to the potter’s house, and there I will let you hear My words.” So I went down to the potter’s house, and there he was working at his wheel. The vessel he was making of clay was spoiled in the potter’s hand, and he reworked it into another vessel, as seemed good to him.

Then the word of the Lord came to me: Can I not do with you, O house of Israel, just as this potter has done? says the Lord. Just like the clay in the potter’s hand, so are you in My hand, O house of Israel. At one moment I may declare concerning a nation or a kingdom that I will pluck up and break down and destroy it, but if that nation, concerning which I have spoken, turns from its evil, I will change My mind about the disaster that I intended to bring on it. And at another moment I may declare concerning a nation or a kingdom that I will build and plant it, but if it does evil in My sight, not listening to my voice, then I will change My mind about the good that I had intended to do to it.

GOD HELP US
Prayer

We conclude with the Lord’s Prayer:

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name.  Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us. And lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory forever. Amen.

THANKING GOD FOR HIS GOODNESS
We offer God a portion of our money as a way to say we love God, and desire to encourage the ministry & mission of the church.

Year-Round 10:00 AM Sunday Worship
The Leadership Team of Ravenswood Covenant has decided to move the Sunday worship schedule permanently to
10:00 am on a year-round basis. This means that there will not be the usual change back to an 11:00 am worship schedule for the school year starting at Labor Day weekend. Instead, Sunday morning worship at Ravenswood Covenant will remain at the 10:00 am hour throughout the upcoming school year. Sunday School and Faith Forum will now begin at 9:00 am when they return in September.

Covenant Home Altar available
The summer issue of the Covenant Home Altar, our denomination’s daily devotional, is available in the narthex. Pick up a free copy and let it be a blessing to your prayer life.

Farmers market help needed
Wednesday was an interesting day. Thunderstorms were forecast for Chicago’s North Side for the entire afternoon and into the evening, yet it turned out that we didn’t even see a drizzle despite the ominous clouds overhead. However, enough local residents checked the weather report and/or saw the cloud cover and decided to stay indoors to keep the farmers market turnout low at about 400 adults. But at least the neighborhood’s children had fun, as the church’s volunteer staff decided to put up the bounce house and run the kids events as usual.

This season we are invited to participate in the newness of the movement of the Spirit! New relationships. New bounce house. New community art projects.

Join us in this mission and ministry by signing up to:

· Be a prayer partner
· Help facilitate an activity
· Show up and be present
· Set up or clean up
· Contribute to our needs list

Sign-up sheets and a needs list are available today! Questions? Please see Bekah Carlson or Leslie Hodgkinson.

RECC church directory
It has been quite some time since Ravenswood Covenant produced a church directory, and the church’s Leadership Team would like to create a new one to aid our attendees with getting to know each other and being able to contact each other. You can help us out by scanning the QR code above or by clicking on this Google Forms link: https://forms.gle/GD7ZeLUCamXxAjV76 . Thanks for participating!
