GOSPEL OF JOHN: GOD’S OWN SON

John 18:37

WE DIRECT OUR MINDS TO GOD
DECLARING OUR UNITY IN WORSHIP
based on Psalm 25:1-9
Come, lift up your hearts to the Lord!
To You, O Lord, we lift up our hearts!
In You we trust!  Do not let us be put to shame.
Our God is full of compassionate love.
He brings sinners back to His way,
and teaches the humble the way they should go.
Show us the right path, O Lord;
point out the way for us to follow.
Lead us by Your truth, and teach us,
for You are the God who saves.
We put our hope in You!

PRAYER SEEKING GOD’S PRESENCE
Jesus, You are the Way, the Truth and the Life. Journey with us as we continue to walk with You to the cross. Lead us in Your truth.  Guide us in Your ways. Feed us with Your life.  In the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, Amen.

GOD, WE’RE LISTENING
John 18:28-32
read by Pete Jackson

Then they took Jesus from Caiaphas to Pilate’s headquarters. It was early in the morning. They themselves did not enter the headquarters, so as to avoid ritual defilement and to be able to eat the Passover. So Pilate went out to them and said, “What accusation do you bring against this man?” They answered, “If this man were not a criminal, we would not have handed him over to you.” Pilate said to them, “Take him yourselves and judge him according to your law.” The Jews replied, “We are not permitted to put anyone to death.” (This was to fulfill what Jesus had said when he indicated the kind of death he was to die.)

GOD HELP US
Prayer

Merciful God, we confess that we have sinned against You in thought, word, and deed, by what we have done, and by what we have left undone. We have not loved You with our whole heart and mind and strength. We have not loved our neighbors as ourselves. In Your mercy forgive what we have been, help us amend what we are, and direct what we shall be, so that we may delight in Your will and walk in Your ways, to the glory of Your holy name. Through Christ, our Lord, Amen.

WE CONCLUDE WITH THE LORD’S PRAYER:
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory forever. Amen.

THANKING GOD FOR HIS GOODNESS
We offer God a portion of our money as a way to say we love God, and desire to encourage the ministry & mission of the church.
