GOSPEL OF JOHN: GOD’S OWN SON

John 19:16b-18
So they took Jesus, and carrying the cross by Himself He went out to what is called the Place of the Skull, which in Hebrew is called Golgotha. There they crucified Him and with Him two others, one on either side, with Jesus between them.

CHOIR & CONGREGATION PRAISE
“Blessed Is He Who Comes in the Name of the Lord!”
Lloyd Larson

Congregation joins singing:
All glory laud and honor to Thee, Redeemer King,
To whom the lips of children made sweet hosannas ring.
Thou art the King of Israel, Thou David’s royal Son,
Who in the Lord’s name comest, the King and blessed One!

PRAYER SEEKING GOD’S PRAISE
based on John 4 & 7
We praise and bless You, ever-living God, for the acts of love by which You redeem the world through Jesus Christ our Lord. This day He entered the holy city of Jerusalem and was proclaimed King by those who spread their garments and palm branches along His way. Let these branches be for us signs of His victory; and grant that we who bear them may always acclaim Jesus Messiah, by walking the way of His suffering and cross; that, dying and rising with Him, we may enter Your kingdom.

GOD, WE’RE LISTENING
John 12:12-19
read by Jo Zancanaro

The next day the great crowd that had come to the festival heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem. So they took branches of palm trees and went out to meet Him, shouting,

“Hosanna!
Blessed is the One who comes in the name of the Lord—
    the King of Israel!”

Jesus found a young donkey and sat on it, as it is written:

“Do not be afraid, daughter of Zion.
Look, your king is coming,
    sitting on a donkey’s colt!”

His disciples did not understand these things at first, but when Jesus was glorified, then they remembered that these things had been written of Him and had been done to Him. So the crowd that had been with him when He called Lazarus out of the tomb and raised Him from the dead continued to testify. It was also because they heard that He had performed this sign that the crowd went to meet Him. The Pharisees then said to one another, “You see, you can do nothing. Look, the world has gone after Him!”

GOD HELP US
Prayer

WE CONCLUDE WITH THE LORD’S PRAYER:
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory forever. Amen.

THANKING GOD FOR HIS GOODNESS
We offer God a portion of our money as a way to say we love God, and desire to encourage the ministry & mission of the church.

RECC church directory
It has been quite some time since Ravenswood Covenant produced a church directory, and the church’s Leadership Team would like to create a new one to aid our attendees with getting to know each other and being able to contact each other. You can help us out by scanning the QR code above or by clicking on this Google Forms link: https://forms.gle/GD7ZeLUCamXxAjV76 . Thanks for participating!

(Proverbs 22:6)
